The County of Maui has amended the process for obtaining the Consolidated Debris Removal Closeout Package for properties affected by the Aug. 8, 2023, wildfires in Lahaina and Kula.
While property owners will still utilize the Consolidated Debris Removal Closeout Package map on https://www.MauiRecovers.org, that map now links to the County of Maui Automated Planning & Permitting System (MAPPS), where the closeout package can be downloaded.
The step-by-step process for downloading Consolidated Debris Removal Closeout Package (PDF attached):
1) Go to Maui Recovers and visit the “Consolidated Debris Removal Closeout Package” map in the Maps & Data section.
2) Enter your property address in the search box. If the closeout package is available to download, the property will be highlighted in ORANGE.
3) Click on your property and then click on the “View Permit & Documents” link in the pop-up box, which will take you to MAPPS.
4) Click on the Permit Number, which will be highlighted in YELLOW.
5) Click on the “Attachments” tab to access a downloadable PDF of your closeout package.
A how-to video is also available on the Consolidated Debris Removal Closeout Package map. Click on the “Go to Help” link in the Q&A box to view.
To obtain their Consolidated Debris Removal Closeout Package, property owners must download it from MAPPS. Closeout packages will NOT be mailed out to property owners.
Once the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) has ensured that all fire-related debris has been removed from a property and soil testing meets standards, contractors will return to install erosion-control methods. The closeout package for that property will be available to download shortly thereafter.
