DESCRIPTION: Aircraft begins flight in another country and ends the flight at the port of federal debarkation in Hawai‘i. Passengers are subjected to U.S. customs processing in Hawai‘i. This category will be either:

  • A non-stop flight – from one airport to another, without any stops along the way.   
     
  • A direct flight – from one airport to another but includes stops in one or more cities along the way.

LATEST TRAVEL INFORMATION:

  • The State of Hawai‘i will align with federal international requirements.
  • There will be no additional State of Hawai‘i requirements for passengers flying directly into Hawai‘i from an international destination.
  • International passengers entering the U.S. from another state or territory will be treated as Domestic Travelers when entering the State of Hawai‘i.

Q. Do COVID-19 tests have to be done by a “Trusted Travel Partner” for travelers flying direct to the State of Hawai‘i?

A. Pre-travel COVID-19 test does NOT have to be done with Trusted Travel Partners under the new international federal requirements.

Non-Direct International Travel

Aircraft begins flight in another country and ends the flight at a port of federal debarkation not in Hawai‘i. Passengers are subjected to U.S. customs processing not in Hawai‘i. This category will consist of:

  • Connecting flights – from one (Non-U.S.) city to another (U.S.) city, with a layover stop in between to change planes (in the U.S.). Each flight requires a separate boarding pass, but passenger is on one itinerary.

LATEST TRAVEL INFORMATION:

  • Beginning at 12:01 am, March 26, 2022, passengers arriving from domestic points of origin will not have to show proof of a COVID-19 vaccination or a pre-travel negative test result.
  • Incoming passengers will also no longer be required to create a Safe Travels account or provide travelers information and trip details.
